ZTE tablet now in Japan

Cellular News reports that KDDI, the Japanese telecom company has started selling the ZTE tablet.

The tablet is being labeled as a smart multimedia infotainment system. It has a range of features including 10.1 inch display and stereo speakers in the front. User can use it to watch digital TV broadcasts, up-to-date directory listings and weather reports, view photos and mirror their smartphone screens. The PHOTO-U TV is waterproof and has 4GB internal storage with up to 32GB external storage support.

The device is highly portable with Wi-Fi certified Micracast connectivity and CDMA 1X WIN. The built in antenna allows the user to carry the device anywhere in the house and yet stream videos in a seamless manner. The battery is 2,500mAh and this provides for long duration backup.

There was also a recent hint dropped by ZTE that it plans to come up with a device similar to the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
