Youth sites see 320% visit spike on tablets

Youth lifestyle and entertainment company w00t Media has revealed that in H1 2013 phones and tablets cornered 31% of youth and young adult site visits.

More than 2 billion visits to lifestyle and entertainment sites that attract 9.3 million unique visits by Brits were tracked between January 2012 and June 2013 to determine the choicest browsing methods.

Data shows rising popularity of tablets at 12% visits during H1, an increase of 320% since 2012. By the end of the year this will rise to 15%. As per comScore, tablets account for 8.7% of all traffic in the UK.

w00t found out that the iPad accounts for 91% of visits followed by Samsung Galaxy Tab at 2.9%, Amazon Kindle at 2.8% and Google Nexus at 1.8%.

Smartphones powered 19% visits during H1, an increase of 137% since 2012. iPhone had 70% share followed by Android at 25% and Windows and BlackBerry together had the remaining 5%.
