Charlie Kindel, GM, Windows Phone Developer Ecosystem, has decided to leave Microsoft to start his own company.
Mr. Kindel confirmed the news through email to all employees of Microsoft and also spoke to GeekWire about his amicable departure from the software behemoth.
In his interview with GeekWire Mr. Kindel said that he had lately stepped out of the day to day activities related to the Windows Phone and was pondering on something of his own. And now he feels that the time has finally come to take a step in that direction.
Mr. Kindel leaves behind Windows Phone with its 27,000 plus apps and has spearheaded Microsoft’s efforts to build a platform that is attractive for developers. He said Nokia wouldn’t have partnered with the company if they didn’t believe in what Windows Phone has in terms of capability. The company is halfway through a marathon phase and this is where Microsoft’s stamina will take them through.
