Windows Mobile 6.5 woos leading mobile manufacturers

With the launch of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 Windows Phone users can now enjoy better service and more features.

Three handsets with Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system have been announced which will be available from October 11th 2009. These three phones are Samsung Intrepid from Sprint, the HTC Imagio from Verizon Wireless and the HTC Pure from AT&T. However, Microsoft confirmed that by the end of 2009 there will be at least 30 more handsets with Windows Mobile 6.5.

The other handsets that are likely to have Windows Mobile 6.5 in the near future are Samsung Omnia II, Omnia LITE, Omnia B7320, Omnia PRO B7610 and LG GM750. Toshiba’s TG01 W will also feature Windows Mobile 6.5.

It is being said that the Windows Mobile 6.5 is a predecessor of the highly awaited Windows Mobile 7. Windows Mobile has proved to be one of the most popular operating systems for Pocket PCs, portable media centers and smart phones. With the launch of the new version of Windows Mobile, there has been some significant improvement from the preceding Windows Mobile 6.1.
