Vodafone launches their social contest

Vodafone has launched a contest that is aimed to improve the lives of older people and those with disabilities.

The purse money for the contest is €200,000. The co-organizer of the program is AGE Platform Europe and the European Disability Forum.

The finalists will have to present their apps live in December in front of a jury and four overall winners will be chosen, with the €200,000 divided among them.

The four winning categories are social participation, independent living, mobility and wellbeing.

Social participation is aimed to help users to interact actively with the society and benefit from all the new technology that is coming up. Independent living is about apps that can help people to perform daily chores more effectively and be more autonomous.

Mobility also aims at independence and using transport better. It also includes the use of mobiles to explore unknown environments. Wellbeing includes apps that are related to healthcare.

Mobile Bingo is becoming more and more popular in the UK – try a game of mmmBingo or iPhone Bingo.
