Visa has expanded its mobile payments service

Visa Europe has added two new features to expand its mobile payments offering.

Mobile News has reported that users can now instantly transfer money from their smartphone to any Visa cardholder anywhere in Europe.

The Multi Currency feature is scheduled for launch at the end of the year and will simplify the complex and expensive cross border payments and receipts.

The Immediate Payments feature, however, is already available in the UK and will be launched in the other markets throughout this year. Using this feature, users can, within minutes, receive money sent to them through Visa Personal Payments. To send money a user needs to register with the service and should know the Visa card or mobile number of the recipient.

There are more than 460 Visa cardholders in Europe and the Multi Currency feature makes it very simple for them to send money, something that can be a painful experience still.
