THQ has confirmed the liquidation of its Finnish mobile games studio Universomo.
The news, recently been confirmed by THQ the popular game publisher, has put an end to their earlier decision to making Universomo the hub for the development of smart phones.
The rumors mills had been on an overdrive with the news of the liquidation. However, a spokesperson of the mobile games industry has confirmed the news last week. The spokesperson has remarked that the company is thrilled with digital gaming and wants to invest further in this area.
Over 15 games and entertainment applications will be launched in 2010 on mobile phones. The company will release the application and games through outsourcing and by using the company’s other resources. The digital games will be developed through a global network which will consist of the external developers along with the new THQ Digital studios.
