Total Immersion received 5.5 million in funding

Total Immersion, the augmented reality startup, has managed to raise $5.5 million for its D’Fusion platform.

The company plans to ramp up businesses in Asia and US while building its developer community at the same time. The funding is led by Intel Capital while existing investors Elaia Partners, iSource and Partech also helped raise the money.

The D’Fusion AR platform of Total Immersion that currently supports smartphones, tablets, Mac and PC, will see further development using the cash that has been injected into Total Immersion while expansion and development carry on.

As per CEO Bruno Uzzan, augmented reality is a key technology that enables contextual computing on PCs, tablets and smartphones through interactive experience for exploration, suggestion and direction.
