According to a recent report published by DFC Intelligence, the market value of mobile gaming will be around $11.5 billion by the year 2014.
According to them, this growth will be mainly contributed by the iPhone and iPod Touch with an estimated figure of 24% of the total sales.
As per the analysis game systems companies like Sony and Nintendo will continue to be the topmost game manufacturers. Appleās platform is expected to be the main reason for the market growth. However, by 2014, Nintendo and Sony may come up with their own handheld gaming devices.
A survey was conducted by DFC which revealed that out of 8000 gamers in Europe and North America, 69% in Europe and 54% in North America are familiar with mobile phone games.
Another report published by Pyramid Research claims that mobile gaming industry will be valued at $18 billion by 2014. Another survey done by Juniper Research predicted the market to touch $10 billion by 2013.
