All the big mobile manufacturers such as BlackBerry, HTC, Nokia, Motorola etc. are implementing a lot of changes in their latest mobile phone models.
There are a lot of the mobile phones still in the market that have a traditional keypad with 12 numerical keys. However, we can sense the replacement of the traditional keypad with the QWERTY keyboard or touch screens.
Today, most of mobile phones are equipped with features like the video player, mobile games, web browsers etc. Traditional keypads consume a lot of space that can be more intelligently used for a larger display screen.
There have been many arguments on whether a QWERTY keyboard is better than a traditional design and still many of them choose the traditional one.
Mobile companies are coming up with handsets which have both traditional as well as the QWERTY keypad; however, with the increase in the demand for better features, we can predict an extinction of the traditional keypad very soon.
