Tap to Clap on your iPhone for X Factor UK

The “Tap to Clap” application on the iPhone now allows viewers to make them heard on X Factor UK.

And it seems that many viewers are taking advantage of this app. Viewers of the popular TV show can show appreciation or dislike of comments made by judges by tapping on their phone screen on either of “Boo” or “Clap”. The entire screen looks like a swingometer that is divided into four segments – Rubbish, Bad, Good and OMG!.

The producer of the show, Fremantle Enterprises, has revealed that over 31 million claps and boos have been registered over the three Saturday night live shows. That the fact is gradually becoming more popular is revealed by the fact that more than 17 million taps were registered in the last Saturday night live show alone.

Live Talkback, a UK firm, has developed the app. It has also worked on apps for Britain’s Got Talent and its own Tellybug social TV.
