Smart Phones to Overtake PCs in Accessing the Web

Analyst firm, Gartner, predicts that by 2013 an increased number of people will be browsing the internet using their mobile phones instead of the PC.

The number of smart phones in the market by 2013 is estimated to be around 1.32 billion.

Gartner remarked that websites that are not optimized for mobile phone formats will face a setback. They will soon have to rebuilt or optimize their portals, web applications and the content of the websites owing to the high demands of the mobile web users.

Websites owners also have to ensure that the content is accessed with minimal number of clicks when browsed over mobile phones.

The growing number of smart phones and browser enabled feature phones will amount to 1.82 billion people accessing the web through their phones as opposed to 1.78 billion people using the personal computer. By 2015, mobile phones will completely overthrow PCs by being the primary mode for accessing the web!

Great brands like Mecca Bingo and Foxy Bingo have already made the shift into mobile – who’s next?
