RIM teams up with Webtrends

RIM, or Research In Motion, is now working with Webtrends to offer something new to its BlackBerry developer community – app analytics tools.

This free of charge service will be made available to the BlackBerry developer community in early 2011. The developers will need to integrate the Webtrends SDK to work on these new app analytics tools.

There will be various metrics that will be tracked by the BlackBerry Analytics Service through this partnership with Webtrends. These metrics include the data on total usage, the loyalty pattern of the users, the various features that are being used and the frequency of their use and also the different screens accessed.

RIM has been continuously innovating to challenge Apple in the smartphone market and this is another shot at that. It is expected that the already large BlackBerry user community will continue increasing with this new services now being made available from RIM.
