Revised Facebook mobile game guidelines

Facebook has again tweaked its game guidelines.

It has created a difference from the time where companies like Zynga pushed messaged to non-gamers in the form of news feed. Later on Facebook had clamped down on this practice and instead nudged publishers toward ads and paid searches.

But this practice of Facebook skewed the market toward the bigger publishers. As a result, game stories are now being permitted by Facebook in the form of mobile news feeds. This practice is aimed at attracting developers to its new HTML5 mobile gaming platform. Messages will now be aggregated so that feeds are not overwhelmed with game related stories. Messages will show how a specific game was joined by multiple friends and a user can tap the link to join the HTML5 version or an already installed native app.

More game categories, bookmarks and app and games dashboards are also available now as part of the tweak.
