Pitfall – first UK mobile game from Activision

Activision now has its mobile studio in Leeds, UK and the first game to come out of this studio will be Pitfall.

Activision informed MCV, Mobile Entertainment sister title that Call of Duty will not be the first one.

There was an earlier report that Activision was working on Call of Duty for smartphones but Martyn Brown from Activision told MCV that there has been a lot of interest during the setup looking at the partner publishers. The firm had reported in the May third week that a studio has been developed and now they have confirmed that it is in Leeds. Mark Washbrook and Mark Lloyd from Rockstar Games have also been hired. And Pitfall, 30 years old this year is the first launch.

Pitfall is symbolic for Activision given that they released the original in 1982. It was coded by David Page, co-founder of Activision. The new Pitfall is supposedly a fresh take.
