Photo challenge by Nokia and Thomson Reuters Foundation to promote Lumia 1020

Nokia and Thomson Reuters Foundation have come together to launch a global photography challenge with women empowerment as its theme.

The challenge was announced during the Trust Women Conference where photo journalists were encouraged to share photos depicting women leadership like motherhood, innovation, passion and courage.

The public will vote for the photos and judged by experts from journalism, women’s rights and photography. This is bound to spark some debate as the experts decide on who the finalists for the challenge will be.

The 10 finalists will be given a Nokia Lumia 1020 to create a portfolio of woman empowerment pictures using only the smartphone.

The first Thomson Reuters Foundation-Nokia Photography Award will be given to the winner of the final contest. The award includes a Nokia Lumia 1020 and professional mobile journalism training and more.

Registrations are open till February 11 2014 and can be done through the Thomson Reuters Foundation website or its Facebook page or through Talenthouse.com.
