People urged to text with their noses

Mobile users in the UK have been urged by Baroness Lane-Fox to show their support for the new campaign launched by AbilityNet that will raise fund for free IT support to the disabled.

From May 13 to 17 the “Look No Hands” campaign wants people to donate via their mobiles by texting Look123 to 70070. The £2 donation message needs to be typed and sent using one’s nose, just to experience how difficult the job can be when someone is physically challenged. The challenge is to raise £20,000 and fund will be used in offering free services to the disabled including online resources, home visits and a helpline.

There are 11 million disabled people in the UK and the internet can be a lifeline for them, helping them to communicate, express, shop and get a job perhaps. It can transform their lives.
