Orange to offer a film a week for the cost of a text message

Orange, the UK mobile operator has now started a great new marketing tactic that will allow its users to watch a film a week from the iTunes store.

The Orange Film To Go is an initiative that allows users to watch a film for the cost of a single text message.

The Orange Film To Go can be used by the mobile subscribers of Orange as well as its home broadband customers. A new film will be available every Thursday and users can get the code to download the film from the iTunes store. All they need to do is text FILMTOGO to the shortcode 85060. The cost of the film? A mere 35p.

The promotional films for the service include The Wrestler and The Ghost and Che: Part One. Orange is also looking to add more titles by clinching deals with distributors.

This is a big campaign for Orange and they are spending £5 million for its promotion.
