Opera claims to save $2.2 Billion for data usage

The latest monthly Opera State of the Mobile Web Report contains an in depth analysis on the top 20 countries where Opera Mini is used.

The report also contains an analysis on the amount of money consumers can save by using Opera Mini.

Opera claims that every single US consumer alone can save $141 on an average for data usage. The saving figure for Nigeria is pegged at $44 a month. Other stats from the report show that over 71.2 million people across the world now use the Opera Mini, a substantial increase from the previous month.

In September 2010 there were 36.9 billion different webpage views using Opera Mini and there was a generation of 535.3 million MB data for the operators all over the world.

The top five websites viewed in the UK as per Opera are Google, Facebook, BBC, YouTube and Wikipedia (in this order) while the top five handsets are Apple iPhone, Nokia 2330C, BlackBerry 9700 Bold, BlackBerry 8520 Curve and Nokia 6700C.
