OpenMarket promoting healthy living via mobile engagement

OpenMarket, the mobile engagement company has partnered with Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation in an initiative for reversing the increasing trend of childhood obesity.

OpenMarket plans to reach out to the audiences through a mobile device and impact the health of the whole community.

Users need to SMS a short code and they will receive daily alerts giving health recipes, nutrition advice and fitness tips. There is also the option to receive coupons for healthier lifestyle activities like park excursions, pool parties and zoo days.

The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation plans to start this campaign state-wide in August. Promotions are planned through local organizations including the Girls and Boys Club, United Way and YMCA.

More and more people now rely on their mobile devices for entertainment, information and daily tasks. OpenMarket and the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation see it as the perfect device for immediate personal connection for health advice and help.
