Nosedive for Windows Phone mobile web traffic

Windows Phone powered mobile devices initially gained huge popularity Down Under.

But sales figures have drastically gone down over the last year and a half. On the other hand the UK seems to be slowly coming to terms with Windows Phone handsets and there has been an increase to 1.31% of all UK mobile web traffic. This data comes from 51Degrees.mobi.

The Windows OS made up around 7% of sales in the UK sales in the last three months. This is compared to 4.3% during the same period last year. US sales of Windows OS smartphones have also experienced a 0.9% growth.

In early 2012 Windows Phone mobile web traffic in Australia was about 1.2% compared to below 1% in the UK. The rise continued rapidly to reach 1.4% in Australia and 1.2% in the UK. However, in April 2012 Australia and UK levelled up at around 1.5% but Australia decreased to around 0.6% in June ’13.
