Nokia vows to become leaders in the Smartphone market

On May 6th at its AGM, the Nokia management promised to gain its lost ground in the Smartphone market.

Jorma Ollila, Chairman, Nokia, endorsed the board’s support to shift focus from hardware to customer services.

Nokia CEO Pekka Kallasvuo has seen pressure mounting due to the delay in new Smartphones and cut profit forecast, clearly showing that the company is struggling to compete with companies like RIM.

He promised a solid foundation and the launch of new high end devices to close the gap. He said that the company was working hard to reclaim the leadership in the segment and improve customer experience.

Lalita D. Gupte, Dr. Bengt Holmstrm, Prof. Dr. Henning Kagermann, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Per Karlsson, Isabel Marey-Semper, Jorma Ollila, Dame Marjorie Scardino, Risto Siilasmaa and Keijo Suila were re-elected till the close of the 2011 AGM.
