No Flash for first lot of Android tablets

Adobe announced that its Flash Player 10.2 will not be available on the first batch of Android tablets although they have promised that the player would be available soon after as an over the air download.

The announcement came as a result of the speculations in the blogosphere about the wording on the new Motorola Xoom tablet that appeared on the webpage of Verizon Wireless. This means that Xoom will also not have the player when it is launched and it will be available after the launch.

Flash is one advantage that Android based tablets have over the iPad. So this news has come as a bit of surprise. But Adobe has made it clear that some of the tablets will have Flash 10.2 pre-installed in some of the devices and it will be available for over the air download within a few weeks of the launch of the Android 3 device.
