New Orange Book Club app for Android

Android smartphones will now have the Orange Book Club store that allows users to buy through a single click and then getting charged in their monthly bill.

This new app from Orange follows its debuts for BlackBerry, Java and Symbian phones last year. The Android app has already gone live and it was announced along with the year’s list of the Orange Prize for Fiction. This new app has a catalog that boasts of 23,000 audio and eBooks.

Like Kindle does for Amazon, this new Orange app allows users to purchase eBooks and read them on multiple devices that include PCs, tablets and handsets. The service is being provided by Mobcast.

As of now, this new app is not available for the iPhone and this is due to Apple’s new rules where they charge for digital content without using their own in-app purchases system. Orange is making changes to the iOS app and plans to resubmit to Apple.
