New iPods launched by Apple

Amid all the hype surrounding iPhone 5 Apple also announced the launch of a couple of new iPods.

The new iPod Touch has a 4-inch screen, in only 6mm thick and weighs next to nothing at 88 grams. It is the lightest and the thinnest of all iPods so far. It comes equipped with a 5MP camera that has the same panorama feature of iPhone 5.

The dual-core chip has been used in it for the first time and it comes with 40 hours of music and eight hours of video playback.

The price is $299 for the 32GB version and $399 for the 64GB version. The launch will be in October.

The new iPod Nano has a 2.5-inch touch display and is just 5mm thick. Available in seven colors it will costs $149.

Both these devices will have Lightning, the new eight-pin dock connector.
