Mobile users spend more media time on mobiles than on TV

InMobi, the mobile ad network recently published its Mobile Media Consumption QIV Survey.

They questioned about 20,000 mobile users in 18 markets in multiple continents.

The survey result shows that mobile phones have surpassed TVs in terms of time spent on media. While 22% mobile users use TV for media content, 27% mobile users use their phones. The study also introduced the three quarter planning to conduct m-commerce activities next year.

The survey states that people prefer mobiles for media because of privacy, ease of use and availability. The top three mobile media activities are social media, entertainment and search. These three will continue to become more popular in the next 12 months. 66% of mobile users are as comfortable with mobile ads as they are with normal ads.

23% users said that mobile ads save money and time and 14% also said that mobile ads have influenced them to buy through their mobiles.
