Microsoft and Nokia AppCampus launches first project

Back in March Microsoft and Nokia had announced an €18 million AppCampus initiative to encourage Windows Phone downloads.

€1 million of the amount was used to support 30 developers.

The first release from this project is Haunted, a physics based puzzler app from Tuliotus. It is available for both Windows 7 and 8, as free trial as well as a full version for €2.

Since the initiative went live in May 85 developers from multiple countries submitted more than 1,500 apps. So far 60 titles have been accepted of which 25% are games, 15% are educational apps and 10% are entertainment apps.

Since games dominate by accounting for more than 50% of the app revenue space AppCampus is very happy to have addressed this particular playing field first. Haunted is going to bring in quality, creativity and innovation. Once the pipeline is up and running AppCampus will publish more new apps on a weekly basis.
