LTE growth on the rise worldwide

ABI Research has come up with a new report that is a reflection of the growth of 4G mobile technology worldwide.

The report states that in addition to the activations made by Verizon, NTT DoCoMo has also managed 25,000 LTE subscriptions.

As far as Verizon is concerned, they are cashing in on the growing LTE momentum in the United States and they have managed to activate 500 million LTE devices worldwide in the first quarter of the year.

The report states that LTE will grow faster than what many believed. As per research analyst Fei Feng Seet, the idea of moving into wireless communication is becoming more popular among consumers now that mobile data speeds are on the increase.

The report forecasts North America to reach 387 mobile subscriptions by 2016 and 85 million of these would be LTE subscriptions. There are more than 100 million 3G users and 3G numbers in Asia will cross 1.2 billion by 2016.
