Kids’ apps creation to be aided by 1.4 million raised by Fingerprint Digital

Fingerprint Digital, a US startup, has raised $1.4 million in funds to create learning and entertainment mobile apps for kids.

Investors of the fund include Suffolk Holdings, THQ, Reed Elsevier Ventures and K2MediaLabs. Fingerprint Digital was founded by Nancy MacIntyre and is planning to create apps for 3 to 8 year olds. All their apps have the “share and communicate with parents” feature. A dedicated virtual reward system and usage based games recommendations are also included in the apps.

As per Ms. MacIntyre, by creating apps for kids and let parents and kids have a shared experience offers developers many new opportunites. This means that Fingerprint Digital will be looking to work with independent mobile games developers.

Since they are into publishing too they will be able to include their connected features into the games. This autumn will see them launch four apps. My Big Kid Life is due for launch in October.
