iOS version 4.2 launched by Apple

Apple has announced the launch of its new iOS 4.2 software update for its iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

This update ensures that iPad, for the first time in its history, has received the iOS 4 operating system. This would give it folders, a game center and a unified email inbox in addition to adding multi tasking features.

At the same time, all these three devices will now have access to the new content streaming and wireless printing features available on iOS 4.2. The names of these features are AirPlay and AirPrint respectively.

Some of the features of Apple’s MobileMe services have also been made free for its users and these include Find My iPhone, a feature that allows owners to locate their devices when they lose it. And only in the US, iTunes TV show rentals are now available on the iPad.

Stay tuned for more updates from Apple.
