Hunt on for Mobile World Capital

Paris, Munich, Milan, Cologne, Barcelona and Amsterdam are the cities that have been shortlisted by GSMA to host their Mobile World Congress from 2013 to 2017.

It has now been confirmed that all these cities are now developing proposals to have a chance of becoming the Mobile World Capital for the same time.

The Mobile World Capital, as per GSMA, includes – a. The Mobile World Center, a permanent flagship element, b. office space, mobile café, retail space, museum and technology exhibits and c. the Mobile World Festival with its dialogues and debates, competitions and awards, music and movie festivals and concerts.

As per John Hoffman, CEO GSMA Ltd., this capital will be the home of the mobile industry and will have cutting edge technology that will benefit the world citizens. It will have great local and global opportunities. The city shortlist will be done in January 2011 and the Mobile World Capital will be announced in mid 2011.
