HTML5 campaign from Kobo to push app downloads

Kobo was launched in December 2009 and its catalog includes over 2.5 million books, magazines and newspapers.

It is believed to have 9 million registered users in 190 countries.

But Kindle is way ahead with 28 million users at the end of 2011 and this is not counting Fire sales.

To address this issue Yodelmobile, the mobile marketing firm, will run banner ads and track all app traffic including apps downloaded, sites redirecting users, app store positioning and downloading customer demographics. It will also monitor full app usage trends like whether people downloading are low or high users or if they have purchased.

Kobo wants to bring the best mobile e-reading experience to as many as they can. Kobo books can be read on multiple mobile phones, on the web and on the Kobo e-reader.

Kobo appointed Yodelmobile to launch its e-reader in the UK in November 2011 where it sold through Dixons and Argos, Tesco, WH Smith and others.
