Google invests in Zynga

As per the report from TechCrunch, a US tech blog, Google has invested more than $100 million in Zynga.

The report also states that this could be the start of a long term partnership goal that could result in the launch of Google Games within this year end.

As far as Zynga is concerned, it has now launched Farmville for iPhone as part of its reentry in the mobile games market.

Google has posted a job in its games team for a Product Management Leader who will be responsible for developing games commerce strategies for Google and partnering to build as well as manage a cross functional team. The job posting further requires someone with experience in building an online games business for both mobile and web devices.

It is speculated that Apple will launch its game centre, wrapping social features around iOS games. Probably Google is planning the same for the web and on the Android.
