Google will not be allowed to use the Nexus One Trademark for the company’s first mobile phone.
Nexus One, launched in early 2010, is scheduled to hit the stores in U.K. by next month. However, lately there is some issue over the name. This time around the problem is with the U.S. trademark office.
The problem cited is a conflict between Google, who had filed the trademark in December 2009, and Integra Telecom, who had filed the trademark in December 2008. Since both these companies cater to telecommunication, the conflict has taken shape.
However, a solution has been sought by Google. It is being expected that Google will point out that they are launching a phone and not a service provision. There is also a possibility that the trademark will not be used in the U.K. So, the Google phone might have the name Nexus One in the U.K. and something else in the U.S.
