Google all set to promote Android gaming in a big way

Google recently appointed Mark DeLoura as Google’s ‘developer advocate’ for video games.

DeLoura was associated with Sony Computer Entertainment of America and expected to provide great leadership in making Android gaming popular. With his appointment it becomes clear that Android Platform will be pushed by Google in a big way to gamers. More games will now be developed for Android platforms.

In a recent interview to Gamasutra DeLoura said that he also thinks that Google is quite serious on popularizing gaming as a medium that has enormous impact. It would be their motto to make it easy for the developers to come up with more games in the Android platform.

According to him it would be both inward- and outward-facing as a developer advocate for games at Google to work in this regard. In 2010, we can expect more games and applications in Android and this will surely make the phone more popular among mobile users that use their phones extensively for entertainment.
