Gay men can find love more easily on love apps

2013 saw 52% of Valentine’s Day gifts bought via mobile devices and a number of themed apps were released.

Staying on apps, the top 20 mobile dating apps were studied by Flurry. Flurry, by the way, registered 17 million active users in January and had 2.1 billion sessions in the same month. What is surprising that of all the users 64% were males and 36% were females.

If you are planning to date using Android the chances are that you will encounter a male because the figures for Android are heavily tilted towards males at 66%. For iOS the share of males is 55%.

25 to 34 year olds are most likely to use smartphones for finding love, slightly pushing behind 18 to 24 year olds. Users of dating apps open their app about 8 times a week for 71 seconds. Gay men open the love apps 22 times a week for 96 seconds.
