Facebook has now added BBM

RIM says that there are now more than 800 BBM connected apps on BlackBerry App World although some countries will not be able to access them.

Over the next 10 days RIM will be launching some very high profile additions to this list. Notable names include Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook. BBM is one of the few reasons that BlackBerry devices are being used. It is but natural that the firm would look to build on this strength.

It’s likely that BlackBerry’s huge teenage user base will be delighted but it will be interesting to see if this makes a difference to RIM’s precariously falling sales as it struggles to keep up with Apple and Android.

This is the second new BBM plugin within 2 weeks and it follows the firm’s BBM Party in London last week that resulted in the death of 37-year-old man who was stabbed at the bar.
