Europe and Japan see launch of Kindle Fire HD 8.9

It was in November 2011 that Amazon launched Kindle Fire in the USA but was not shipped beyond the USA, ever.

The seven-inch Kindle Fire HD went beyond the US shores and was launched in Europe in October 2012, six weeks after it debuted in the USA.

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch device was, till date, available only in the USA. Now Amazon has launched the device in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and the UK. At the same time the price of the device has been lowered in the USA. The Wi-Fi and 4G versions of the device now start at $269 and $399 respectively.

Amazon is thrilled with the response the large screen device has got. With expansion in Europe and Japan production volumes have gone up and costs have gone down. And with costs coming down the company will be able to pass on the benefits to the customers.

Mobile Bingo is becoming more and more popular in the UK – try a game of mmmBingo or iPhone Bingo.
