A recent survey by Flurry, an analytical firm, has shown that 44% of iPad apps are games.
However, this survey has failed to enlighten us on the kind of games used by iPad and its developers. PocketGamer.biz, an industry site, has gathered information about the iPad games.
They have revealed that 26% of the 97 iPad games categorize as Puzzles, which is the most popular genre. 12% of the games are action based, while the rest 10 % fall in the Sports category. 44% of the iPad launch games come from Indie Studios, and publishers have accounted for 31% of the launch games. Mid-tier developers account for 23%.
48% of the games have been developed in the U.S., with U.K. accounting for 10%.
Only 16% of the iPad games are new, as 65% of the games have been ported from the popular iPhone titles. The rest of the 10% have a console origin.
