China has the maximum number of iOS and Android device activations

Flurry, the app analytics firm has claimed that China is now the worldwide leader for iOS and Android smartphone and tablet activations.

It’s share is 24% of the total activations worldwide.

China had a worldwide share of 8% at the start of 2011 and gre slightly to 10% in August. The share is now more than double within six months of time.

While China has grown, the US has fallen. From 28% at the start of 2011, US now has an activation market share of 21%. However, it is worthwhile noting that the US activations have grown throughout 2011. The graph had a spike of 34% in December 2011 before it nosedived at the end of the year.

As is evident, China is set to become the largest smartphone market in the world by 2012. It also leads in growth of app sessions. It secured 1126% growth in this segment from QI 2011 to QI 2012.
