Books selling more on Apple’s app Store

Since the launch of the jaw dropping smart phone, iPhone, the App Store has witnessed a sudden hike in sales. The App Store has sold more than a billion applications to iPhone users.

The latest addition to the App Store has been iPhone compatible books. A report has been presented by Mobclix, a mobile ad company, on the sales figures of the App Store. The sale of books has clearly outnumbered the sale of games. The report by Mobclix shows that there are just 24,000 games in the App Store as compared to 26,000 books in iTunes.

Some of the most popular e-book applications for the iPhone are Kindle One, Stanza and Classics. Apple will have to buck up to take on the e-book market from Amazon with the launch of the iPad in the US on the 26th of March 2010.
