BlackBerry Payment Service now launched

Google has just confirmed their in-app billing capability for Android and it seems that this feature is now one of the “must haves” in the mobile world.

RIM also had this capability in their plans for a long time and they have now launched it through their BlackBerry Payment Service. Mobile phone manufacturers are just taking development to a new scale and any new service is becoming ubiquitous in a short while.

Using the BlackBerry Payment Service vendors will now have the ability to register and manage virtual goods through the BlackBerry App World Vendor Portal. There is an in built reporting feature that can be used by the vendors to track the purchases made of their goods and the payments realized through sales.

For developers, it is now possible to download the BlackBerry Payment Service SDK. There are sites that are offering this download and a search in Google will reveal those websites.
