Banco Santander iZettle mobile payment now in Brazil

Banco Santander invested €5 million in iZettle in the beginning of the year and has now decided to introduce the service in Brazil.

All businesses, irrespective of their size, can now use their tablets or smartphones to accept card payments.

Banco Santander is offering a signature and chip reader for R$90 in its website but customers in Brazil can use the service for free till 30th September 2013. It is obvious that this new service will allow businesses to make more sales and build up more regular and loyal customers.

Although Brazil is the second largest market in terms of card payments 99.7% of the market is composed of micro merchants. With iZettle they will be able to compete with the bigger players.

There are no setup or subscription fees or minimum or monthly payments for iZettle. The only payment that it accepts is 5.78% of each transaction made by the merchants.
