Android to enjoy PayPal’s mobile payments library

It was hardly a month after PayPal’s announcement of the open beta for its iPhone payment library that another announcement was made in the company’s blog.

This time the news was unveiled by the Vice President of PayPal’s platform, mobile and new ventures, Osama Bedier.

The news about the launch of the mobile payments library for Android confirms the news of PayPal’s increasing commitment to the mobile. PayPal had announced in April that their iPhone App download crossed the 1 millionth mark.

The new Mobile Payments Library is expected to run like the iPhone App. Users will be able to donate and make personal payments for services as well as physical goods sold through Android phones. PayPal ensures the security of the personal financial information of the customers.

A downloadable version is available on the x.com website. With the constant increase in mobile commerce, PayPal had decided to capitalize of the condition and wants to provide as many vendors as possible.
