Android 2.2 update coming up

Google will soon roll out its over the air Android 2.2 update for its Nexus One users.

This update has the codename Froyo. It comes with an integrated Flash support and can turn the Google Nexus One phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. Users will receive a message in the phone’s notification bar through which they can access the update. The update needs to be downloaded and will install automatically.

Google is quite sure that its Nexus One users would like this new update. The Android 2.2 update, or Froyo, is going to be rolled out gradually. Most of the users should be able to receive and download the update by the end of the week. Although installing the update is by choice, Google believes that all users will upgrade.

There are other features of Android 2.2 that include dedicated shortcuts, browser and launcher, better camera and picture functions and JavaScript performance and remote wipe and enhanced security using Exchange.
