9 million daily transactions on Windows Phone

The nine million milestone that has been passed by Microsoft’s Windows Phone has now crossed the nine million milestone that consists of both app and in-app purchases.

Microsoft has also announced that it will be soon changing payment policies for developers.

Previously Microsoft paid developers after receiving app sale proceeds from carriers. The process was not very popular because it could take more than 120 days for paid transactions. The change in policy will allow the transactions to be ready after 30 days.

26 global markets have the carrier billing facility but Microsoft is looking to expand this number rapidly. There is no surprise here because Windows Phone developers earn 3 times more revenue through carrier billing per active user and up to six times in the emerging markets.

Registered third party users can now use the unique device IDs to track users without getting any personal information. This would lead to relevant ads.
