6.5 million Angry Birds downloads on Christmas Day

There is no indication that the popularity of Angry Birds is coming down.

If we go by the disclosures made by Rovio then what we find is quite the contrary. As per Rovio, the revenue earned in 2011 has been $100 million and there have been more than 500 million downloads of its popular game. Given the fact that Angry Birds is the only product Rovio offers, these figures can only be attributed to it.

Of the 242 million downloads done on Christmas Day, Angry Birds chalked up 6.5 million downloads. This means that Angry Birds was 1 in every 37 downloads on December 25th.

Ville Heijari of Angry Birds told All Things Digital that the people at Rovio are highly excited that such a huge number of people decided to get acquainted with Angry Birds this holiday season. Exciting new releases for 2012 are lined up and Rovio cannot wait to make their public introductions.
