50% UK social media users interact with brand accounts

UK stores are closing fast and as per online shopping partner Webloyalty and retail researcher Conlumino 31% stores will be off business by 2020 as by then 85% Britons will use the internet for their shopping.

Social media is considered as a key for client communication as 69% Britons are on social networks and 49% of them are interacting with brands on the platform.

The report suggests that retailers should grab this opportunity and push deals and news to create ‘social shoppers’. Mobile will account for 25% of all purchases by 2020 and social networks like Facebook and Twitter are increasingly promoting themselves as mobile firms.

Social media will have a wide impact on the retail environment as its presence in online shopping grows. Retailers can use this media to tailor products and services for their customers.
