200 million downloads for Gameloft

French firm Gameloft did the right thing by moving away from Java operated portals because it has just achieved its 200 millionth Apple App Store download.

Soon after the App Store was launched in 2008, Gameloft wasted no time in committing to the iOS ecosystem and it immediately hit off with franchises like Asphalt, Let’s Golf, Modern Combat and Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance (N.O.V.A.).

SVP of Publishing Gonzague de Vallois said that Gameloft is now synonymous with amazing gaming experience on iPhone, iPod and iPad for millions of gamers all over the world.

By the end of the year Gameloft is planning to launch more than 20 new titles to iOS. They will use all of premium, freemium and subscription models. It was just a week ago that they had reported a net profit of $19.93 million. It also reported that its iOS revenues have gone up by 63% in 2010.
