The immense growth in subscribers in Africa, Asia Pacific, India, Latin America and the other regions will raise wireless revenues by 64% from where it stands today. While wireline revenues will be flat, 3G and 4G broadband services will grow at the rate of 24% CAGR.

Fran Caulfield of Insight Research has said that despite the worldwide economic uncertainty, the telecom industry is showing huge strength in revenue growth and it is being driven by consumers using more Internet and business mobility solutions. New applications are being enabled due to this kind of usage. Telecom is now a key factor in economic growth. Like water and energy, telecom is facilitating critical social and economic advancement.
